Director
L. R. Martindale joined the faculty in January 1999. Before becoming Director of Fellows, he served as Assistant Department Head in Finance. In his continuing capacity as a Senior Lecturer in Finance, he teaches Money and Capital Markets, which he re-developed as a writing-intensive course. He has served in Faculty Senate since 2005 and represented the Finance Department of Mays Business School in other capacities, including Financial Executives International, the Undergraduate Leadership Subcommittee of the President's Task Force on the Undergraduate Experience, and the Mays Business School Undergraduate Program Committee.
Before teaching full-time, Prof. Martindale worked as an accountant, banker, consultant, and lawyer. In private practice he consulted in the areas of public finance, accounting systems, and capital budgeting. He also assisted with various legal issues in banking and financial reporting. Before private practice, his professional focus as a commercial banker was on credit quality assurance. He has helped write and enforce lending policies and procedures and managed a variety of complex lending relationships.
Earlier in life, Prof. Martindale served briefly in both the Air Force Reserve and the Army National Guard. His intellectual interests include U.S. financial history, the Federal Reserve System, the role of financial institutions in social order, and the ethics and jurisprudence of capitalism. Off duty, he is a reader of history, something of a ?Civil War buff?, and a reasonably accomplished cook. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Pi Gamma Mu, the international honor society in the social sciences. His advanced degrees include an MBA from Texas A&M University and a JD from South Texas College of Law.
Assistant Director
Jordan Thebeau graduated with her degree in Accounting in August 2008. She is now working towards her Masters in Human Resources here at Texas A&M. Jordan was a member of Fellows Group XXV in the spring of 2007. She is looking forward to working with the coordinators and Fellows Group XXVII throughout the year.
Group XXVII Coordinators
- Selections Coordinator, Stephanie Coco, is an Accounting Major from DeRidder, LA. This fall will be her first year working with selections and will continue with the process in the fall 2009 semester.
- Class Coordinator, Chris Eisenlohr, is a Marketing Major from Dallas. As Class Coordinator, he will be in charge of contacting industry partners to speak to the Fellows in the spring.
- Selections Coordinator, Meredith Hainsfurther, is an Accounting Major pursuing her Masters in Marketing from Dallas. This is Meredith?s second year as Selections Coordinator and is willing to answer any of your questions.
- New York Coordinator, Amanda Knight, is a Marketing Major from Dallas. She will schedule office visits with major companies in the city for the optional Spring Break Trip to NYC.
- Leadership Experience Coordinator, Morgan Knocke, is a Finance Major from The Woodlands. During the spring, Morgan will follow the progress of the each group project.
- Events Coordinator, Lauren Nyquist is a Finance Major from Colleyville. She will plan the Samaria Experience and several networking events throughout the year.
- New York Trip Coordinator, Marcus Pennington, is a Finance Major from The Woodlands. He will be working along side Amanda planning the week long Spring Break Trip to New York City.
- Public Relations Coordinator, Julie Roach is a Marketing Major from The Woodlands. She will be in charge of promoting the Fellows Program to the student body and the surrounding community.
- Selections Coordinator, Mallory Spigel, is an Account Major pursuing her Masters in Tax from San Antonio. This is her first year working on the Selections Committee and will serve Fellows again in Fall 2009.
- Selections Coordinator, Melissa Swift is an Accounting Major pursing her Masters in Marketing from The Woodlands. Melissa worked with Selections last year and is here to help the students applying this fall.
