The Link Program
The Link Program encourages mentorship and networking among current and former Fellows. Our goal is to pair each Fellow with a mentor, and we ask for former Fellows' involvement as mentors. This program links current Fellows with a former Fellow who shares their similar field of study or desired profession. Mentors provide guidance to the current group and in turn have an opportunity to stay involved with the Fellows Program.
There are three core objectives of the Link Program:
- Pair each Fellow with a former Fellow as a mentor.
- Encourage Fellows and their mentors to communicate via e-mail and phone about such issues as work/profession, interviewing, career choices, graduate school, companies, job opportunities and any other “life-after-school” topics.
- Organize one or two events during the year to provide mentors a chance to meet with the Fellows. The events are not mandatory, but serve to build stronger bonds with the current group, create networking experiences and offer opportunities to reconnect with the program.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor for the new group of Fellows, please send an e-mail to fellows@mays.tamu.edu. The Link Program accepts mentors on a first-come, first-serve basis each spring. Those selected as mentors will be e-mailed a short bio form to fill out, and mentors will be assigned in mid-February. Feel free to e-mail us with any questions.
We recognize that mentors have many demands on their time. We also recognize the immense value you bring by spending a short amount of time with a current Fellow. Please know that your participation is greatly desired and appreciated!
